The Logos Baptist Church is a manifested vision that was birthed out of the spirit of our Senior Pastor/Teacher Rev. Keith Butler. Pastor Butler after hearing the voice of God upon his life humbled himself and stepped out on faith and became obedient to God’s call to lead the people of God by the “Word of God”
On November 19, 2006 Pastor Butler expressed to his wife and a few friends the outline of the vision of ministry that God was birthing in him. Pastor Butler, his wife, his children, and 12 faithful followers came together at the church’s administrative office for an anointed, spirit-filled, electrifying bible study and worship experience, marking the official birth of the Logos Baptist Church.
On Thursday, December 14, 2006 Moderator C.P. Preston and other officials of the Florida East Coast Baptist Association officially installed the Logos Baptist Church with its founding 73 members. Our Pastor believes that once you become a member of the Logos Baptist church, you will experience the Word of God coming to Life, thus the word: a ”LOGOS” is a Greek word which means: “The Living Word of God” Our pastor prayer is that when you visit and worship with the Logos Church Family, the word of God will come alive in your spirit and you will move by faith from membership to covenant-ship. During the first few months of our ministry’s existence, because of the unique anointing and favor God placed upon our Pastor, our ministry began to experience growth at a very rapid rate.
On December 31, 2006 the Logos Baptist Church had our very 1st New Year’s Eve Watch Night Service at our temporary worship site at 2775 NW 183rd Street. It became clear at the end of that worship service that God had destined Pastor Butler and the Logos Baptist Church for something so great the natural mind would not be able to conceive the mantle that was being placed upon our ministry for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.
As a result of us being an infant church and not having our own edifice there were several adjustments and sacrifices that had to be made to ensure we were able to consistently worship together as a church family. Initially we began only having 8am worship on Sunday mornings and Bible study on Thursdays at 7pm. Our pastor began to hear from God in realizing that there were a lot of people who wanted to connect with our ministry, but unfortunately many of the members worked on Sunday mornings and because there was no 11am worship service in place, many people felt they were missing their opportunity to worship and fellowship with the Logos Church Family and to be spiritually fed by their shepherd, Rev. Butler Thus on January 7, 2007 our first 5pm worship service was held that later became affectionately refereed to as “The Night Shift”
On Sunday, April 15, 2007 the Lord again blessed and favored the Logos Family in that we had our very first Ordination Service. During this service, all Deacons, Deaconess, Elders, and Church Leaders were all officially installed, commissioned and licensed under the guidelines of the Logos Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Keith Butler. During our 1st year of serving the people of God in the Kingdom of God, we witnessed the birthing of the following ministries: Deacons, Deaconess, Pastor Aide, Gospel Choir, Youth Choir, Praise Team, Sabbath School, Adult Ushers, Youth Ushers, Trustees, and In-Reach Ministry. We believe that God is divinely assigned the Logos Church Family to be the provision for the vision that He has birthed in our Visionary.
As we continued to serve and the ministry continues to grow, the Lord began to burden our Pasto9r to find a permanent edifice for the Logos Baptist Church for the purpose of needing to consistently have ministries assessable and available for the body of Christ. Through much prayer, fasting, and the continued financial support of the Logos Baptist church, in less than a year of our existence, the Lord favored Logos on Friday, November 16, 2007, to have our first worship service in our new 3 million dollar sanctuary.
This was the time where God allowed the Logos Baptist Church Family to appreciate the hand and favor of God, in that while in the midst of our celebration of our Pastor’s 1st Pastoral Anniversary, God had to allow our shepherd to see the Vision god birthed in him manifested in the natural. Since the birth of our ministry, our membership has grown to over 600 members. Our pastor’s goal is not for the Logos Baptist Church to become a well known: “Mega Church” but rather a well known church that is “Making a Difference” in the lives of God’s people. When you come to Logos you will find that our motto is: “If the devil messes with 1 of us, then he has to mess with all of us, for we are family”
